Italian art police on Wednesday made their biggest-ever single seizure of looted works, more than 5,000 archaeological finds including Ancient Greek statues, amphorae, vases and drinking cups.
The finest piece was a 6th-century BC Corinthian kylix with black figures showing the myth of Theseus, the hero who slew the minotaur.
The haul was worth some 50 million euros, said Rome prosecutor Giancarlo Capaldo.
